Thursday with ValeriGail 2/12/09

Good Afternoon, everyone! Seems I'm making it a habit to post late these days. LOL Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things next week!

So, Layout Lovin is really slow... and since I like to feature different Scrappers every day, I couldn't pull something from there today. :( Made me sad. Come on everyone, Link us up!!!! We miss you and your pages!!!! Anyway, so I've gone Gallery hopping to find today's Featured layouts. I went looking for layouts that are about interesting subjects, different things than a usual layout. First one up is.....

Too darn cute, isn't it!! I love that she scrapped about these moments, because they only last a short little time. And then, before you know it, your kids are doing everything on their own and you miss the interaction you used to have. At least thats how its been for me. Things I really didn't think were important moments, became cherished memories. Like late night potty training! I love her layout. The Journaling is wonderful, and love her word art and title font! The Top secret in the corner cracks me up, too!! This is just all around a great layout!!!

Next up, we have.....

I love this!! The "story" totally cracks me up. I love the poem used, and the wonderful extraction making the bird apear to have landed on the frame! There is always that one that sticks behind, ya know. For birds and people! LOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And there you have your featured layouts for today! Please stop by their pages and leave them some much deserved Love!! And then, come on back here and link us up to some more amazing layouts! We really do miss seeing everyone's work. Remember, the layout doesn't have to be one of your own, you can link up that really cool one you saw earlier, or the one that made you giggle... And every link you provide gives you a better chance at the drawing next friday!!! So, see... you get to show off someones work, or your own. You get to leave love for others, which is always fun and you get a chance at winning a Gift certificate!!! All for just linking up!! So please, pretty pretty please? LOL
Till next week!
Wacky Wednesday with ValeriGail 2/11/09
Good Afternoon everyone! I apologize for the late post, I've been having some computer issues today. But, I think I'm back up and running fine now.
Our first Featured layout is one linked in Layout Lovin' and it has no pictures!
I love journaling, and I love personal Blog posts.... and this Layout is the best of both!! I loved reading about her day, and I think its wonderful that she's memorialized this blog post as a Scrap page. Years from now, she will totally enjoy reading this story and remembering how things were. Because time flies so fast when you are raising babies, specially several at the same time. Something I totally know first hand! ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Next up, we have a page I stumbled upon while looking through the Gallery at MyScrapbookArt

Isn't this just adorable? I love the poem she's used for the journaling, its absolutely perfect! The extractions are wonderful, and I love how she's placed the baby in the vines, gives the layout a very mystical effect. And I love the title work, too!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thats it for me today. Please stop by these pages and leave them some love, they so deserve it!! And I know a comment would make the layout artist's day!! Also, remember to link us up... we love seeing all of the layouts you all work so hard on.
Till Tomorrow!
2*10 Tuesdays with Christy
Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope your day is going well. Just a quick post to spotlight a couple of pages I found today.
The first is really sweet and is using Nicole's Grab Bag.
It's by flattsgurl and is called My Heart
This next one I found at DST. The big blue eyes lured me in, but it was the journaling that takes center stage here by tkelley called If You Ever Wonder.
.
Well that's it for me today -- happy scrapping!!
2*9 Marvelous Monday
Hello? Is anyone still out there? It seems so quiet around these parts lately. We're still plugging along here. I found a really fun LO to feature in the Layout Lovin' section.
It's by Valeri and is called Digging to China -- LOL
I love how she did her title and that picture is just priceless.
This next LO is really sweet. I love that she journaled using the song.
Please be sure to leave fun2educate some love. She is also using items from Nicole. :)
Well that's it for today. See you tomorrow.
2*8 Spotlight Sunday (Sugarplum Paperie)
Howdy Praisers!!
Christy here again with another Spotlight Sunday. This time around we have Nicole Seitler from Sugarplum Paperie.
Nicole has generously donated a $10 GC to her store. She has her own store here and here.
Here is a little bit about her:
I never considered myself to be a "crafty" person until a girlfriend of mine sent me a pack of handmade cards for a baby shower gift. When I saw what she had made with cardstock and rubber stamps, I just new I could do it, too! The confidence I gained from playing with rubber stamps spilled over into several other areas of my life and I started to try my hand at knitting, quilting and scrapbooking. I really enjoyed playing with scrapbook paper--it just fascinated me!
Then one night, probably while I was browsing for inspiration on 2 Peas in a Bucket's gallery, I discovered something called "Digital Scrapbooking Freebies." And from there, I found the Shabby Princess. How many people can tell the exact same story?! Well, I was hooked when I saw all the beautiful things people were making with Photoshop and I knew right then and there that I wanted to learn, too! I realized that behind every pretty piece of scrapbook paper I liked, there was a person who actually created that--and I could be one of those people! So I started on a year long process of teaching myself how to use PSP and then Photoshop while doing web design projects. In July of 2007, I started a blog to give away any digital creations I made while I was learning just what I could do with this program. That blog is the Sugarplum Paperie blog! Then in November of 2007, with the help of my husband who is also a web designer, I opened my own shop. What a blast it has been! Everyday I learn more about design and grow happier with my creations. I'm still not quite where I want to be yet, but I'm loving every minute of this wild ride!
This month I have the privilege of being a guest this month for Nicole. Her products are so easy to use. Here is a sampling of a few of her latest products:
.
And for the next two weeks there is this awesome collaboration kit that several designers, Nicole included, have put together to help a digi scrapper named Mellisa. Check it out:
Remember for every link you leave in the Layout Lovin' section will get you entered into the drawing.
