Hi Everyone! I am here to bring our very first Digi From My Point of View. Basically, I took a look at my favorite sites and now I am here to give you a run down on whats up in Digi from my point of view this weekend.
First and foremost I have to let you know where I can be found on many a Friday Night.
The Digi Chick hosts ChickyChats nearly every Friday at 10 pm eastern. It is a very laid back chat with lots of laughs, prizes and gab. If you are looking for a friendly place to hang I suggest dropping in and seeing if the chat is up and jumping tonight.

Thursday's Features - 11/6/08

Hey all! This is Melissa bringing you the featured layouts for today. Let's jump right in...

First is a layout that was linked up through Mr. Linky. The layout is by nikkiARNGwife:

Born 2 Ride
http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=469599

I love this layout. Of course, I love almost everything that Nikki posts to the gallery. I love how she has chosen to scrap a small milestone that usually would get forgotten about, the small accomplisment of learning to ride with the pedals and not just using your feet to move. I love how she shows the progression of photos and frames each photo with ric rac. I also want to point out her title work. She has chosen to spread the title out and clip it to the photos, something different than the normal. Fabulous job, Nikki! Be sure to use follow the link above and leave Nikki some honest to goodness love about how great this layout is!

Next is a layout that stuck out to me in the DST gallery. This layout is by *Melly*

happy
http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=469906&cat=all&limit=all

I love that Christmas layouts are starting to show up in the gallery. I love Christmas and I love this layout! I love all the element that were used in this, lots of ribbon and strings and glitter. All things that go perfectly with Christmas. Even though this is a Christmas layout, it doesn't have a generic Christmas title like you would expect. Instead she has matched the title up with the emotion that is being portrayed in her wonderful photos. Perfect job, Melly!! Be sure to visit her layout also at DST and point out what you love about this page.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget - this week, each link that you post in Mr. Linky at the top right side of the blog gets you registered to win a $10 gift card to We are Storytellers. You can link up a layout of your own or one from a fellow scrapper that you think is amazing. The drawing will be held tomorrow so you still have time!!

11-5-2008 Wacky Wednesdays with ValeriGail

Hi Everyone!! I am ValeriGail, and I will be your blog Narrator today! LOL. I am very excited to be a part of the Genuine Praise team!! I love the whole concept behind this blog. As story tellers, Artist, Digi Queens, Scrapping moms… whatever you want to call us… We put a lot of our heart into our work. I love that we are coming together to show more of our heart in the praise we chose to leave behind for others.

A little bit about me… I am a Stay at home mom to 4 children. A 12 year old tween boy, 4 year old twins and a Baby girl who will be 3 in less than 2 weeks!! (OMGosh when did that happen??!!??) . I love to take a hundred or more pictures at any given time… and for any given reason, much to my kids dismay! I’ve only been Digi scrapping since June of this year, so I am still a HUGE Newbie and learning every single day. I love the community I’ve found myself in here in the Digi world. You all are totally Awesome!!! I hope you know that!! If not, I just told ya didn’t I? ;)

Ok so on to the Featured Layouts for today… First up is a layout that was linked through Mr linky. (you can find Mr linky to the Right at the top of the columns list. Link up any and all Layouts that you would like through Mr Linky!)

Let”s Cruise Baby By kj4jc

I think this Layout is absolutely Adorable! Her picture is priceless… there is just something about capturing kids from behind that screams of cuteness!! I love her use of the layered papers, off kilter just a bit and all the funky elements. The chain framing out the picture is totally my favorite, with a close second being the tire in the background. Each element and paper here are so very simple, yet when brought together just as she has done, make an amazing statement of youth, fun and friends. Totally a great Layout worthy of your Genuine Praise! So please, follow the link and leave her some real honest Genuine Love!

Next up is a Layout I found in the Gallery in the middle of the night last night. I have a lot of sleepless nights due to a medical condition I have... So when things get crazy, I usually hop online and cruise through the Galleries. Last night, this Layout jumped out at me.

Please by EmmasMommy

Two things that I totally Love on Layouts…. Several Pictures and a good amount of Journaling. This Layout has both. And to top it off, its an every day sort of moment too!! Love those. Totally reminds me of when my baby girl was, well, a baby.. Brings back all those cute little memories. Everything went in her mouth.. everything. It was all fair game. If she could get her hands on it, we all knew what would happen! LOL

I really like how she journaled this on the strips, and that Title!! WOW!!! One of my Favorite things to do on my own pages is use lots of different fonts, Alphas, papers, what have you, to mix up the title and/or journaling. I think it totally makes a page Pop! She did Amazing with this title work!! And that foot picture…. Now who can resist a cute baby foot picture, might I ask???? Not me that's for sure!! Please, stop by Emmas Mommy’s page and leave her some Genuine love for this Adorable Layout!!!

I thank you for taking the time out to stop by our blog today!! We really do appreciate all the participation we've been getting from everyone! Remember, you can link up any layout you would like.. one of your own, or someone Else's that you think needs some Genuine love. The more the Merrier, they say... so Link them up!! Also, any Layout you link gets you qualified for the GC give away at the end of the week! Just link up a layout and your name goes in the drawing. We will randomly choose a winner of a ten dollar gift card to We Are Storytellers on Friday! Good Luck everyone! And after you've linked up, please stop by the other pages and leave some real, genuine, honest Love for the other participants of the blog!!!

Next week, I will have something special for everyone!!! So stay tuned for more information about that soon!! Until then.. Live, Love, Laugh... and Scrap often!!

11/4 Tuesday Afternoons with Christy

Hello praisers!! Christy (AquaRuby) here!! I am excited to be a part of the Genuine Praisers here. I've been trying to decide what to type for a few days. I love this idea that Lori has about leaving honest, sincere praise. It seems many of us are guilty of the typical 'Love this page' or 'Gorgeous LO' -- myself included. I get busy and do enjoy the pages I see. I actually do try to leave sincere praise for pages, because that is exactly what I want. I have been scrapbooking now for almost 11 years. I feel like an old hat here. LOL! But today I want to focus a bit on journaling. That was what struck me as I was glancing through the pages in Mr. Linky. The page that really stuck out to me was Melissa's 'I Scrap' page -- check it out:
http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=468021

Isn't this awesome. I bet a lot of us feel the same passion for why we scrap. I know I do.

Now this next LO by DisneyCruiser really caught my eye. I think it's a combination of that sweet messy face and the fun way she added all her journaling.
http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=468092

I am leaving you with this last LO of mine, it explains my username. I thought you might like to know the story behind my username.
http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=437751

Incase you can't read my journaling, it says that I use this name on digital scrapbook sites. I usually try to register with my real name, but it is usually taken. So I came up with AquaRuby. It comes from the birthstone of my kids. Two were born in March and their stone is aquamarine. My other two were born in July and their stone is the ruby -- so I mashed it together to make aquaruby. :)

Oh and before I forget, Lori wanted me to let you know that the rules of the contest have changed just a bit due to the problems with some galleries. Any LO that you link this week to Mr. Linky will get you entered, you don't have to do it daily now. Have fun praisers!!

11/3/2008 Monday's Featured Layouts

Lori here! Happy belated Digital Scrapbooking Day! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did and I look forward to see you play with your new goodies this week.
November is officially here and the year has flown by! This month I am planning on working on my documentation skills. With two journaling classes being offered in our community, I am gonna be a busy bee with my new pens. Thats right I will be doing Jessica Sprague's Stories in Hand class and Listmania being offered at We Are Storytellers. I encourage you to sign up for one. Stories in Hand is free of charge so drop by and sign up. http://www.jessicasprague.com/
Now if you think you would like to do both here is a special chance for you to do List Mania on me. http://wearestorytellers.typepad.com/

This week link a layout here daily, Monday through Friday, and leave love for other layouts you find in Mr Linky. Dont forget to leave thoughtful, genuine comments. On Friday we will see who has played daily and randomly choose a winner of a ten dollar giftcard to We Are Storytellers. So that should make it easier to leave some genuine love around here. Dont forget if you have not scrapped you can link an old layout or a layout you happen to like from someone else.
Which brings me to my layouts of the day! I ran into a touching layout this weekend at DST that I had to fave to show you. Let me get it!
Here is Ace's Wild with
IVF journey
This layout takes us through Jackie's journey in which she became a mother! She has done a very good job conveying her story in a simple way. I just found it touching when I saw it so lets leave her some love!
Next up is Stephk with
Wonderful Fairytale
This layout sure caught my eye. I love the BG paper and the journaling placement. I think it has just the right amount of elements and journaling to create a balance I enjoy. I am very much the journal on every page type so I enjoy a good example of how to get the story on there without taking the focus off the design! Nice job Steph!
Ok, I have kept you long enough! Look out for our new blog authors this week. And shout about our contest and blog to your friends. Have a great week!
